August at Jøvika is long light and calm water. The midnight sun has just tipped back into a normal sunset, but it still barely gets dark, and the fjord tends to go still and mirror-flat in the evenings.
We had a family staying all last week who barely left the deck — coffee in the morning, a swim off the dock at midday, fishing in the evening light. That's more or less the whole plan for this time of year, and it's usually the right one.
