A family-run lodge on a sheltered bay where Senja meets Malangen — apartment, main lodge, cabin and caravan pitch, all a few steps from the water.

Evenings on the deck are back, chiminea going, fjord going quiet as the light drops.

Long light, calm water, and not much else — exactly what late summer here is for.

A good week of fishing, and a reminder to bring warm layers even in summer.

A small update — nothing dramatic, just a bit of maintenance around the place.

Calm mornings on the bay, and the best time of day to be out on the fjord.

The turn of the season, seen from the deck — and the birch going gold across the valley.
FIG. 01 — JØVIKA
Jøvika Lodge sits in the heart of Malangen, on the Senja side of the fjord — a place for slow days, open water and nights under a very large sky.
We're not a hotel. Jøvika Lodge is family-run, and we look after a handful of guests at a time across the main lodge, a small apartment, a fjord-view cabin and a caravan pitch. Book what suits you, and we'll take care of the rest.
See what's available →Granite rises straight from the fjord. The peaks across the water change with the light, all day, every day.
The road ends near here. What's left is water against the shore, wind in the birch, and not much else.
Sea eagles and otters are the nearest neighbours. In season, the aurora is too.

A small, self-contained apartment with its own entrance, bedroom and living room/kitchen — right over the water.

The full lodge: a large double bed, a cot and two single beds, and a deck built for long evenings outside.

A simple cabin with a breathtaking, uninterrupted view straight down the fjord.

Bring your own caravan and plug in a few steps from the shore, with the same views as the lodge.

When the sky clears after dark, the aurora builds quietly over the fjord — a ribbon of green that can fill the whole sky by midnight.
September — March
For two months the sun never sets. The fjord turns to gold at midnight, and the mountains hold their shadow all night long.
May — July
Kayak the sheltered bay or head out for cod and sea trout. The water is cold, the silence total, and the granite rises straight from the deep.
All Year
After the cold comes the warmth. The outdoor fire keeps the deck lit through long evenings — out into the wild, then back to the hearth.
All YearThe lodge stands on a sheltered bay on the Senja side of Malangen, in Troms county. Nearest airport is Bardufoss (about 65 km); Tromsø is roughly 1.5–2 hours by car. We recommend having a car for the trip in.
