Northern lights, three nights running

Northern lights, three nights running

We don't usually get three clear nights in a row this time of year, but that's what happened last week. Guests staying in the cabin came down to the water each evening and just stood there for an hour, cameras forgotten half the time.

The best show was the second night — a ribbon that started low over the mountains across the fjord and slowly filled overhead, moving slowly enough that you could watch it change shape.

If you're chasing the lights, give yourself more than one night here. Weather in Malangen changes fast, and the extra day is usually what makes the difference.
