We got the chiminea going on the deck again this week — first proper fire of the season out there. There's something about the smell of it that means the evening has properly started, whatever the weather did during the day.
Most guests end up out there after dinner at some point, coffee or something stronger in hand, watching the light change over the water. It's still light enough late in the evening that you don't really need the fire for anything except the fire itself.
