The dark season at Jøvika has its own rhythm. The fjord goes still and black, the mountains across the water turn to silhouette by early afternoon, and the only sound most days is water against the rocks below the deck.
This is when the aurora comes. Not every night, but often enough that you learn to glance up on your way between the lodge and the woodshed. Some evenings it's a faint green smear low on the horizon. Others it fills the whole sky and moves like something alive.
Guests who come in winter tend to slow down fast. There isn't much to do except the things that matter here: keep the fire going, watch the water, wait for the sky to clear.
